Judges’ Roles |
|
| |
There will be at least three judges who are expected to play different roles in terms of how they critique the debaters. They balance one another out in their judging style and this ensures absolute objectivity in the eventual choice of a winner.
They must be able to articulately express themselves and their opinions in a coherent, objective and concise manner that shows clearly that they know what they are talking about. These are experts in their field, well informed professionals who are able to make technical critiques of the debaters.
Judging Process
- Week after week, contestants will debate on selected topics, either as individuals or as teams.
- The contestants will not be kept in fixed groups, so that they learn how to work as a team with different personality types.
- The teams will prepare for each debate with the help of a debating coach.
- The judges will pass comments on the performances of the debaters and score them, either as teams and as individuals.
- The contestants with the lowest scores from the judges will be voted for by viewers, who will choose to save their preferred Debater.
- At the finals, the judges will pass comments and the viewers will vote for a winner.
